“Trade association Abta told the BBC that the case highlighted that holidaymakers should never do anything to raise “concern or suspicion in any way”.” —

Caution on Twitter urged as Britons barred from US

In any way! Got it? Wait. Where are my facepalms?

Roadrunner

Just got to my head. The Sex Pistols one. Brain picked it up from somewhere.

If we lived in a sane world, here I would have not ranted but linked to a video of them doing Roadrunner. But, we don’t. And you would not get any special satisfaction from me posting an image of an apology for not having the vid in your country, you stupid person. So, instead, start singing.. is not’ard… Raodrunner roadrunner… going thousand miles an hour… with the radio oooon..

“My friend’s claim seeks to apply a worn out law to a new reality. Books are different to other chattels (possessions) and the law should recognise this. Learned men like us, who have received a new heritage of knowledge through books, have an obligation to spread that knowledge, by copying and distributing those books far and wide. I haven’t used up Finnian’s book by copying it. He still has the original and that original is none the worse for my having copied it. Nor has it decreased in value because I made a ranscript of it. The knowledge in books should be available to anybody who wants to read them and has the skills or is worthy to do so; and it is wrong to hide such knowledge away or to attempt to extinguish the divine things that books contain. It is wrong to attempt to prevent me or anyone else from copying it or reading it or making multiple copies to disperse throughout the land. In conclusion I submit that it was permissible for me to copy the book because, although I benefited from the hard work involved in the transcription, I gained no worldly profit from the process, I acted for the good of society in general and neither Finnian nor his book were harmed.” —Colmcille and the Battle of the Book [..] (pdf)

“The fondant in the centre of After Eights is made as a stiff paste of saccharose, water, and a small amount of the enzyme invertase. This fondant can readily be coated in dark chocolate. After manufacture, the enzyme gradually splits the saccharose into the much more soluble glucose and fructose, resulting in a more liquid consistency.[1] Maturing of the mint is said to take over three months.” —After Eight - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It’s hard to pick one piece from his post to quote; it’s all worth reading. Including the comments.

“Richard Edelman, president and CEO of Edelman, said: “Business is now better placed than governments to lead the way out of the trust crisis”.” —

BBC News - Trust in government has ‘suffered a severe breakdown’

The irony.. After government sold themselves to business.

“Fuck you guys. The global economy is not a difficult thing to figure out. Make shit that people want to buy and sell it for a price that people can pay. There is a reason Manka Bros. is the World’s Largest Media Company. It’s simple. It’s because we are the biggest and we are not stupid. When Jimmy Cameron came to me and said he wanted to make a $400 million dollar movie about blue people set on a distant planet, I passed. No fucking way am I shooting a movie on another planet. It’s expensive enough in California!” —

Fake Steve in the media world. Quite amusing.
